Cupcake heels!

So my oldest is now 8! I can not believe it, I think I am still in a bit of shock over it. This past weekend we had 10 girls in the house for a fashion slumber party. For the party I made some fun cupcakes to look like heels. It was a bit or work but it was so much fun.

I have a lot of pictures that I took during the process.

The items I purchased to decorate the cupcakes. The Pirouette cookies are used to make the heel portion of the shoe.

Cupcakes, I used 2 liners for each one so the colors would be more vibrant.
I cut graham crackers to a bit of a point to go into the cupcake for extra support to create the sole.
I used candy melts to cover the graham crackers for extra stability and coloring. I also used the chocolate to attach the heel to the sole of the the shoe.
I melted the chocolate on plates so I could somewhat dip the graham crackers into the chocolate...
as you can see here.
 Frost the cupcakes
 decorate to fit your style

Some of the cupcakes I made.
Special one for the birthday girl.

I highly recommend you do not make these to far in advance, and do not put assembled shoes into the fridge, the cookie portions will get soft and start to crumble.

Good luck on your cupcake shoes, please leave any comments or tips you have on ones you have made :)

Birthday Party invites

My oldest has decided for her 8th birthday she wants to have a fashion themed sleep over. I made her invites this week and thought I would share. Will post pictures from the other party decorations and what not as it gets closer.

But today we are talking about invites. I found a great site online where you can make invites to look like tickets or passes. I went with a VIP ticket to a red carpet event to go with her theme :)

I made the back of the ticket and insert in word using 4 columns. I printed the ticket on plain white scrapbook paper I had because its a little thicker and the insert on pink construction paper.

The envelopes were red construction paper I folded into pass envelopes and she wrote VIP on. I think they turned out pretty cute. They went off to school today so now its the waiting game to see who's coming :)

Feeling reflective today

I have a crazy life at times. Can get very busy with the kids, house, marriage, work. Sometimes I need to take a breath and remember why I do the things I do. I love my family, hobbies and all the craziness that I take on and I take it all on because its who I am. I hate to say no to people, I hate to feel I've let someone down. I have had a lot of dreams in my life as far as careers but in my personal life I've only ever had one; to be a good wife and mother. It's been the most rewarding 'job' I've ever had. I love my husband and kids, even when they drive me crazy. :)

Sloppy joe pizza!

What a wonderful change of pace from both pizza and sloppy joes. This was a huge hit with my family. My son loves both and they are his preferred meals but the rest of us like to change things up. This was while the same different. :)

Wasn't much to this one so I have 1 picture :)
So easy! You need a tube of refrigerated pizza crust
1 pound cooked ground beef
1 can sloppy joe mix
2 cups mozzarella cheese
1 cup cheddar cheese
1/2 cup Parmesan cheese

Unroll pizza dough place on greased baking pan bake at 425 for 6-8 min

Mix meat and sauce

Spread meat mixture on pizza crust
Cover with cheese

Bake for another 6-8 min until cheese is melted.

Yummy! :)

Ravioli lasagna

So yummy! New recipe we just tried. Love it! Been cooking a lot just made mushroom lasagna last week and sloppy joe pizza. Will post those too :)

But on to this one. Very easy and it freezes well.
1 pound ground beef
1 jar spaghetti sauce
1 package (25 ounces) frozen ravioli
1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
Cook beef until no longer pink add in the sauce. You will later that first. (This one went in the freezer which is why you see so much foil)

Layer the ravioli next
Now a layer of cheese
Than do it all over again :) top with the remaining meat sauce and cheese.

Cover and bake at 400 for 40-50 min or until heated through.

Enjoy!

Cute wreath for any occasion

I made this wreath for the door for my daughters first birthday.
Plan to make one with unused balloons for my sons birthday as well in the theme of Mickey Mouse. But this one was perfect for the sweet butterfly theme.
Was super easy to make although it did take time.
Start with basic wreath frame got this one at hobby lobby for less than $3.
Start tying on tule in the color and pattern you wish.
I was testing out how full I wanted it to be I ended up doing all of the wire because I wanted it full!
Before I added the butterfly's to finish off the look. For lots of comments on it. I think it turned out great and truly was easy and cheap! Took a couple hours one night while watching a movie :)
